Raffia rectangle bag pattern

This useful large raffia tote bag for shopping or the beach has a rectangular check pattern and single crochet side gusset. It is made of two pieces which are crocheted together.

Written in US crochet terms it is suitable for upper beginner skill level.

MATERIALS : I used 4 rolls of Hobbii Raffaella raffia yarn in the shade Dusty rose, however any raffia yarn can be used approx 590 yards / 540 m
5.00 mm crochet hook
Scissors
tapestry needle
Handles can be made from raffia or
I used bag handles from Hobbii, many different types of handles can be purchased online and they make the bag look so much better! They are optional.
A lining is optional, I have a video showing you how to make a lining plus the video offers a nearly no sew hack!

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS :
Length 67 cm / 26 inches
Width 63 cm / 24 inches
Depth 12 cm / 4.5 inches
