Twister Scarf crochet pattern 3

This final blog post for the Twister Scarf crochet pattern tells you how to make the pointy end of your scarf into a rectangle to make the other end of the scarf.

To continue and finish off the scarf we are going to stop the central increase and just work each side separately to bring the sides into each corner and make a straight final edge which also has shells across like the other end.

MATERIALS

HobbiiTwister in any colour from http://shop.hobbii.com/clm-hobbii com  or equivalent  4ply/ fingering weight yarn cake * I was gifted this yarn but these are not affiliate links

Crochet hook   3:50 mm

scissors

Tapestry needle

GAUGE

6 shell arcs x 14 rows = 4 inches (10.5 cm)

Ch3, sc section = 8 x ch3, sc = 4 inches (10.5 cm) x 4rows = 1.5 inches (4cm)

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS

Width 16inches (41 cm) x length 100 inches (254 cm)

Start with a shell stitch row.

Row 1 : Ch3, sc 1 into 2nd space, ch 3, dc 9, sc 1:  repeat *ch 3, sc 1*  x 11 times , dc 9, sc 1 into next space, ch 3, sl st into top space, ch 3 , sc 1 into next space, dc 9 and continue down the other side as you completed the previous side

Row 2 : ch 3: sc 1 into 2nd space, *ch 3, miss 2dc, sc 5 into next 5dc from previous row, miss 2dc* , *ch 3, sc 1 into next space * 11 times, repeat first * to *, ch 3, sc 1 into final sc 1 from previous row, turn

Row 3 : ch 3, sc 1  into third sc over shells from previous row, continue to ch 3, sc 1 till you reach the final shell sc 1 into 3rd sc, ch 3, sc 1 into next space, ch 1, dc 1, turn

Row 4 

Ch 3, sc 1 into 2nd space the first time, then next space x 14 times in total so you end parallel to the top (see below) 

Row 5 : start with dc 9 to make a shell parallel to the previous row at the top,  then continue as Row 1

Continue to go back and forth in this manner repeating the four rows and keeping the line of shells parallel across both the side and the top. The rows will get shorter and shorter until you reach the corner edge when you reach the corner, work a sc row across the top to the centre then repeat the rows above for the left hand side including the final sc row neaten the final edge. Fasten off and weave in any ends, block if required, then try on your scarf! I hope you enjoyed making the Twister Scarf crochet pattern!
